Breaking Out-Confidence is Key

Breaking out of the box or breaking the barrier is not what you want to happen at a rodeo.  It will cost you 10 seconds...not good when you're trying for a winning time.

Sarah is in the box ready to rope but they don't turn the steer out until she gives them the nod, no, not the finger, a nod.  It's a fancy way a cowboy or cowgirl tells the chute help to turn out the steer or calve.  In cowboy terms, "I'm ready to rope, turn'em out boys!"

All of our children have been riding horses since they were babies. It has been a way of life for them.  All our children love horses but Sarah has taken a special interest in them and now has a degree in Equine Science.  Now that she's the expert, we all have to listen to her.  (that doesn't always go well)

Sarah was quite a shy rider when she was a pup, (a child).  In other words, she wasn't an aggressive rider.  She wanted to walk and not run her horse most of the time.  I can remember watching her run barrels at the playday rodeos. Okay, I watched her walk the barrels but in the back of my mind I pictured her running, with her fringe and hair flying in the wind.  "Run like the wind Bullseye." Don't you just love the movie Toy Story?

With a lot of miles and time in the saddle, Sarah has found her confidence.  She now "runs like the wind."  But her name isn't Bulls Eye, it's Sarah.  Just wanted to clarify.
