Mr. Harris-The English Teacher

Aug 19, 2018

Meet Mr. Harris-my husband, father our three beautiful children, cowboy, horseman extraordinaire, hard-worker, horse whisperer, retired school teacher, and the list goes on.

He is a man of many titles and many talents.

When I met this rugged cowboy man for the first time, I would have never imagined him as a high school English teacher. What?  You don't say.

Yes, it is true.  This man dedicated thirty years of his life teaching and training students the correct way to use the English language.

He has helped many students throughout the years, and I call that extraordinary and beautiful.

I call him a professional in his field.  He doesn't think so. "I'm just a cowboy." he says.

I have a lot of respect for this cowboy. He is a man of integrity who loves God and his family. I thank him daily for the man he is.

Not only has he been a wonderful husband and father, but he has also been a wonderful teacher to me. He has helped me sharpen my English skills, and for that I am grateful. I will forever be a student.

One thing about Mr. Harris, although he is retired and no longer in the classroom, he will never stop being an English teacher.  It is part of his DNA. It is one of his many gifts.

Good teachers and good people come in many different ways.  In this case, you can find both underneath one cowboy hat.

Thank you, Mr. Harris, for sharing your gift, and teaching me where to use commas in the right places.  I appreciate you.

Your forever student,
Lisa-Rural America Girl
