No Place Like Home

It wouldn't be home without the sound of banging tin on an old barn when the west wind blows.


It wouldn't be home without the rooster crowing each morning, his way of reminding me of a new day to celebrate. "For this is the day the Lord has made."

It wouldn't be home without the cows bawling at the gate in hopes of getting dinner around 5 P.M.

It wouldn't be home without hearing the beat of horses' hooves in the arena as my family enjoys spending their evenings on horseback instead of in front of the TV.

It wouldn't be home without piles of boots covered in mud and manure laying on top of used feed sacks in the mudroom.

And, it wouldn't be home without my beautiful family.
