Scripture Mentioned in Video:
2 Timothy 3--For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power.

Are you stuck in selfie mode? Are you constantly taking pictures of yourself? How many selfies do you actually have on your social media pages? I ask these questions to raise the question? Are you stuck in selfie mode? I believe there are many people who are stuck in selfie mode and in fact the bible talks about this in 2 Timothy 3--For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. There is one thing all of these have in common-they are all stuck in selfie mode. Selfishness is rooted in evil. It keeps you from being what God called you to be--helpers, lovers, forgivers, obedient, thankful, holy, loving, nice, compassionate, givers, and godly. Selfishness keeps you from receiving the blessing of God. Christians are called to be imitators of Christ and walk and act as He did. Galatians 6 tells us To stoop down and reach out to those who are oppressed. Share their burdens, and so complete Christ’s law. If you think you are too good for that, you are badly deceived. The new living translation says it this way “If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.” Selfishness keeps you from seeing beyond the nose on your face or the lens on your camera. Galatians 6 in the message bible says. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others—ignoring God!—harvests a crop of weeds. All he’ll have to show for his life is weeds! But the one who plants in response to God, letting God’s Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life.. Are a crop of weeds and a collection of selfies really what you want in life? Or is a real life what you’re really after? It’s time to take the phone off selfie mode and reset it to panoramic mode so you can see a broader view of what’s going on around you and how you can be a blessing instead of a picture.
