Travelin Show Gypsy

Who said showing livestock would be easy?  Sure, let's grab a heifer out of the pasture, hook-up the crusty rusty trailer to the old Chevy, and let's roll!

Please keep in mind, this is only make-believe.  There is nothing about showing that is easy especially when it comes to loading the trailer.

Here is the show day loading list:

Animal--could be a heifer, steer, goat, sheep, horse, dairy cow, chicken, dog (if your into those kinds of things)

Feed and Hay--fifty bags of specially mixed and packaged show feed that would be fit for a king, twenty hay bales and hay bags to stuff it in, feed tubs, buckets, scoops, and don't forget the shovels...cause what goes in must also come out.

Show Chute--it weighs thousand pounds, has a million pieces to put it all together, and four heavy-weight wrestlers to lift it in and out of the trailer

Grooming tools--combs, brushes, soap, clippers, scissors, red, black, white, blue, auburn, yellow, green paint, glue, sawdust, horse hair, shaved cow hair, hair dye, hair dryers, and magazines to read

Show Clothes--4-H or FFA jacket, western shirt, boots, belts, safety pins, a million bobby pins so the girls can achieve the show-bun look, hairspray, makeup, straight pins, lipstick, toothbrush

All these things along with, food for snacks and lunch, because hungry children are always an issue, camera, blankets, and most importantly...the kitchen sink!

Oh, I almost forgot...Truck and Trailer.

Of course, everything on this list isn't accurate, but I think you get the picture--packing for show day requires a three-day notice and an army to get it all done.
